Hamza Atcha is currently a graduating senior at the University of California, Irvine studying Biomedical Engineering. He has been an active member in both on and off campus activities throughout his undergraduate career. Hamza is an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Wendy Liu’s lab and is working on designing and fabricating a cost-effective cell stretching device to better understand the role of mechanical stretch on immune cells. He has also been a member of Engineering Student Council at UCI for the past two years where he planned and organized various community related events. Hamza also enjoys volunteering at Saddleback Memorial Care Hospital in the Telemetry Unit.
